Creative Ministry Team Updates

There are so many new people in the team, which is awesome, so it might be a good time to remind ourselves of what our values are as a team.

Would love to go through this during our next weekday practice as I've just kind of made short hand notes under the headings, but please take some time to read over this and, if you have any questions, please ask me and I'll explain it :)

For those of us who have been here for a while, it's a good opportunity to be reminded of what we value and even re-evaluate ourselves as to where we currently are.

Learn. Grow. Repeat.

Love you all!
Matt Duminy

Lifegroup Leader Updates

Thankyou for investing time, effort and heart into our church as you lead your Lifegroups.

THIS WEEKS FOCUS: ASKING GOOD QUESTIONS

- Open-ended and Followed-up
● What makes you say that?
● How do you feel about that?
● How do you think that would've affected you if you had been living in the time of
Jesus?
● How would you explain your answer to a non-Christian friend or neighbor?
- Contextualise
● So what in the world does that have to do with our lives today?
● How can you change your perspective from today regarding that issue?
● What one thing can you do differently in this next week to start living that out?
- Include Differing Opinions
● Do you really agree with what the author is saying in that chapter? Why or why
not?
● Why did God design it to work that way? Why not just do (whatever else)
instead?
● What would you say to someone who disagrees with that?
● Why do we really have to do it like that? Why can't we just go (some other route)
instead?

Notes from the last Lifegroup Leaders Training

Elvanto is helping us communicate better throughout churchlife. Below are some tutorials:

Updating LG Member Details

Lifegroup Member Needing Pastoral Followup - use this to remind you to check how people are going or ask others to help cover them pastorally

Responding to a Pastoral Request - this is how to respond if you've been assigned someone to follow-up pastorally

New Visitor People Flows - if you've already received a notification this will explain what that means!

Submitting Group Reports - please do this each time you meet with your group

Lifegroup Material - there are also resources available with each sermon podcast

Welcome Intercessors Team

Thankyou so much for supporting our church community through prayer. We can already feel the effects of a stronger covering!

Lou has put together a new set of prayer points for the year ahead. I thought it would be nice to have them here for your reference.

Welcome Ushering Team Members

Thankyou for being a part of this vital team on a Sunday! We have seen how important the first contact is in making people feel welcome in our community at EN Melbourne! Che and Diana put together a comprehensive powerpoint of the responsibilities of an ushering team member.

Here is also a link to report if new stock is needed and a list of Lifegroup Leaders and their group details so you can introduce new people to them. The service plans are available here

Department Head Mtg Minutes Dec 1st

Attendees - Ken, Keira, Jen, Matt, Derrick, Val, Adrian, Marie, Lou, Che

  • After filling our tummies with KFC and stir-fry Ps Ken thanked the dept. heads for a successful year and encouraged us all to be thinking ahead... How the 2020 vision (of an extension service in the East) could impact our different teams.
    • Group Discussion:
      • See it sowing a seed into the East extension service
      • We’ll start with what we have for the East (whether it’s just Paul and Abbie in their home, or a mini-service with worship)
      • Once a month, August onwards, with more clarity on what the East would look like by June/July
      • Worship Team example: two of our drummers are out east
      • Be thinking about raising up more leaders and more volunteers
      • Lou: Be praying!
      • Matt: We could start rostering accordingly at least a couple months ahead to iron out any issues and get the team ready
      • Val: would like more clarity on what capacities to develop for the East team, and train accordingly
  • Quick update from each Dept Head
      • Worship: tracking well, and has a plan to further develop skill and capacity of worship leaders in the new year
      • Admin: Feeling more consistency and still planning for the MO/tithe speakers training Jan 24
      • Youth: Ministry is almost 1 yr old! Yay!... A major highlight was the rock-climbing event, and the Youth are beginning to open up… Busy planning for next year - want a camp, thinking about meeting during the service time rather than after, and more training for the Youth leaders
      • Sounds/AV: Props to Reymark! Props to the whole team whose technical skills have all grown and improved! — They're more confident… Still working towards a set-up and pack-down roster.. Getting a ramp to help with streamlining storage and pack-down.
      • Media & Comms: New work-flow structure and delegation established, and working towards consistency of ‘branding’ and imagery, currently revamping the website, and would like to build a library of images and train others how to create the graphics etc.
      • Intercessory Prayer: Change in leadership from Tina, to Lou. A big positive is more people are approaching the team for prayer. Lou has a desire to elevate prayer and build a culture of prophecy and prayer.
      • Ushering: Great recent team building/training meetings, Change in leadership from Che and D, to Adrian, Adrian excited to continue the great work of Che and D.
  • Jen presented the idea of the ‘ENM Compass’ as a potential tool for us as we take on the leadership development challenge.
    • The compass is a ‘single view’ of our vision, values, discipleship processes, and the behaviours and attitudes we want to see in our members and leaders… Just like how a compass always points North, this tool aims to keep our focus on why we do what we do, and how we do it.
    • Jen asked the dept. heads to think about how it may be helpful for them as they lead their respective teams.
    • Team gave great feedback on improvements!
    • ‘Final product’ to be released soon.

Follow-up
